Roofs and rooftop systems, rebuilt right.

A look at recent commercial roofing and rooftop mechanical projects across Southern California — from emergency multi-trade repairs to planned AC platform upgrades. Residential projects are being added as new work is photographed.

Title 24

Compliant, fire‑retardant roofing systems

Emergency roof & rooftop mechanical rebuild

A leaking rooftop platform, water tank, and aging AC lines — stripped, rebuilt, and resealed in coordination with multiple trades.

The problem

Water heater and tank leaking, old AC lines over-maintained, units sitting too low to the roof.

What we found

The platform itself — not the roof membrane — was the source. Rusted through from the leaking tank above.

Rebuilding

Roof stripped and reassembled with a temporary platform holding tanks while the permanent structure went in.

Completed

Raised platform to code, new tanks, water heater and copper lines, all connections tied in and resealed.

“We can’t address the roof under or around a platform unless we take it all apart — so that’s exactly what we did.”

This emergency repair started with a straightforward leak and uncovered a bigger issue: the rooftop platform supporting the building’s water heater and tank had rusted through, and standard flashing repairs wouldn’t reach it. CrownLine coordinated a full teardown and rebuild — working alongside plumbing and mechanical trades to raise the platform to current building standards, replace the water tanks, water heater, and copper lines, and reseal every roof connection with standard and custom flashing.

It’s one example of how CrownLine manages large-scale issues that touch more than just the roof — keeping every trade working from the same plan so nothing gets rebuilt twice.

Rooftop AC platform & unit upgrade

New platforms and flashing built for side-draft AC units, with one older unit replaced by a newer, more efficient model.

New platforms and base flashings were set for the building’s side-draft AC units, and one of the older units was swapped for a newer, more efficient model. The new platforms also help reduce vibration and sound transferring into the building below.

A full roof replacement wasn’t needed here — CrownLine can upgrade what sits on top of a good roof without disturbing it, working in conjunction with the client’s other contractors on the mechanical side.
